Representative Democracy in Czechia

Does the Czech model of representative democracy work efficiently with European policies? What are the main tools available to Czech MPs and senators to influence, formulate and control how European policies are being made?

These and other questions are the main topic of the chapter "Representative Democracy in Czechia: A Disconnect Between the National and EU Level" co-written by Prof. Mgr. Ing. Petr Kratochvíl, Ph.D., Mgr. Jan Kovář, Ph.D. a PhDr. Zdeněk Sychra, Ph.D. in the book "Representative Democracy in the EU: Recovering Legitimacy".

The book can be found here.

Representative Democracy in the EU: Recovering Legitimacy is part of the ‘Towards a Citizens’ Union (2CU)’ project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the EU and is the product of a sustained collaboration with 20 renowned think tanks from the European Policy Institutes Network (EPIN).
