Veronika Bílková presented views of the Venice Commission on the new recommendation issued by the Council of Europe

Head of the Center for International Law at the IIR and a member of the Bureau of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe, Veronika Bílková, spoke at a high-level meeting on the Council of Europe's Recommendation on the development and strengthening of effective, pluralist, and independent national human rights institutions.

On 26 and 27 April 2021, a high-level public meeting was organized by the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions (ENNHRI) and the German Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. The meeting adopted a Recommendation on the development and strengthening of effective, pluralist, and independent national human rights institutions. At this meeting, our researcher and head of the Center for International Law, Veronika Bílková, presented the views of the Venice Commission on the new recommendation. She was on the panel with the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Dunja Mijatović, the judge at the ECHR Lulia Motoc, and the President of the European Committee of Social Rights, Council of Europe Karin Lukas.
