We are delighted to announce that the second edition of the conference Europe as a Task, will take place on 5–6 May 2026 in Prague.
5. 5. 2026 (13:00)
Prague Castle (Hradčany, 119 08 Prague 1)
Europe as a Task 2026 is a high-level international conference focused on the future of the EU, bringing together expert perspectives to address key European challenges in a global context.
The opening ceremony will take place on the 5th of May, 2026 at Prague Castle, keynoted by the President of Czechia and the President of Finland, with a full programme of expert-level discussions continuing on the 6th of May, 2026.
This year's edition focuses on three strategic priorities shaping Europe's future: European security and defence, European competitiveness and strategic industrial policy, and market integration and regulatory coherence. On security and defence, the conference will explore how to strengthen Europe's defence preparedness and industrial capacity, accelerate common procurement, and ensure Europe has the capabilities to protect itself in an increasingly volatile world. On competitiveness and industrial policy, discussions will focus on how the EU can better innovate, scale, and attract investment in order to close the widening gap with its global rivals. On market integration and regulatory coherence, the conference will examine how to remove cross-border barriers and harmonise rules, particularly in energy and telecommunications, to create a more predictable and innovation-friendly European market.
The conference brings together senior policymakers, industry leaders, and experts to identify strategies and policies to secure a resilent Europe for the future.
