The Actorness of the EU in Its Energy Relations with Algeria

Lukáš Tichý, our researcher, published an article in the prestigious Insight Turkey magazine published by SETA. Together with Jan Mazáč of the Charles University and Zbyněk Dubský of the University of Economics, Prague, they focused on the energy relations between the EU and Algeria.

The authors aim to define the criteria for the EU’s external actorness in its energy policy and their application to analyze the EU’s energy relations towards Algeria, emphasizing the related potential for strengthening energy security, especially in natural gas exports to the EU. How can EU action criteria relating to the external dimension of EU energy policy be identified and measured? How can the EU actorness be characterized in the analyzed case, namely its energy relations with Algeria?
