New video "The Politics of Intimacy"
The Institute of International Relations Prague in cooperation with the New Perspectives Journal was proud to host Senior Researcher Fellow from the University of Vienna Dr. Anna Durnová.
In her research, Dr. Anna Durnová explores how emotions inform particular arguments or narratives leading to policies. The lenses of emotions reach beyond explanation through cultural or ethical/ideological imprints and offer a novel understanding of governing processes in the context of world politics, which has put in place novel power orders for Western liberal democracies. The talk will be broadly based on the forthcoming book by Dr. Durnová The Politics of Intimacy: Rethinking the End-of-Life Controversy. The discussant was Jakub Eberle, Research Fellow, Institute of International Relations and was moderated by Dr. Benjamin Tallis, Research Fellow & Editor in Chief of New Perspectives, Institute of International Relations.
The seminar was held on the 25th of May 2016 in the IIR.
