Crisis Management versus Collective Defense
"After more than 20 years of focusing on crisis management and intervention, NATO knows how to do crisis management, but has to relearn how to do collective defence." That is the main argument of policy paper our Associate Researcher Nicholas Williams published with Center for War Studies, University of Southern Denmark.

Nick Williams, associate researcher of the Prague Institute of International Relations, is a former UK Defence and NATO official, who worked extensively in Afghanistan, Iraq and the Balkans. From 2000 – 2004, he was attached to the French Ministry of Defense to further Franco-British defense cooperation. He is a senior associate of the European Leadership Network, and a member of the academic board of the Centre Européen de Recherches Internationales et Stratégiques, Belgium.
