Inside Digital Trade Regulation: Czechia and the Central European Context
We would like to invite you to a lecture by Tomas Rogaler on the topic of Digital Trade Regulation within the V4 countries, scheduled to take place on Tuesday, November 4th, 2025.
4. 11. 2025 (16:00)
Jazyk: English Institute of International Relations (Nerudova 257/3, Malá Strana, 118 00 Praha 1)
The regulatory environment for digital trade in Czechia, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia plays a crucial role in shaping how these economies trade among themselves and integrate into the global digital economy; yet, systematic comparative analysis remains limited.
Tomas Rogaler addresses that gap by analysing the regulatory frameworks of the V4 countries, mapping both restrictive measures and enabling policies that influence digital trade and highlighting areas where their approaches are similar and where they diverge. An in-depth case study of Czechia complements this regional mapping, combining desk-based legal research with qualitative insights from interviews with regulators, firms, and other stakeholders. This study directly connects formal rules with their practical outcomes, offering evidence-based policy recommendations to accelerate digital commerce regulatory convergence across the V4 region.
This event is particularly relevant for researchers, policymakers, legal experts, and professionals engaged in digital economy strategy and governance.
